Z.D. Dochterman writes dark, weird speculative fiction. His stories have appeared or are forthcoming in "Seize the Press," “Trollbreath,” "Quest," and the "Creepy" podcast among other publications. He is also a member of Codex and the LA-based Speculative Ink writer's group.

He earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in 2017, focusing on Central American revolutionary poetry in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. He has co-hosted creative writing workshops with formerly incarcerated people and currently teaches in the Writing Program at USC on themes of labor and postcapitalism.

He lives in Los Angeles and is into hiking, his dog, Pinecone, and doom metal.
