Z.D. Dochterman writes speculative and weird fiction. His stories have appeared in "Seize the Press," “Bone Parade,” "After Dinner Conversation," and "The Molotov Cocktail," among other publications. He is also a Codex member.

He earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in 2017, focusing on Central American poetry in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. He has co-hosted creative writing workshops with formerly incarcerated people and currently teaches in the Writing Program at USC on themes of work and globalization.

He lives in Los Angeles and is into hiking and doom metal.
